Suites is a series of live performances curated by Threes in collaboration with Combo aiming at creating an intimate and collective listening dimension.
The Terra delle Sirene Public Program is the educational project conceived for Fondazione Donnaregina by Villa Lontana Records and Terraforma taking place at Madre in Naples.
The proposed workshops are addressed from time to time to adults and children and develop content and interactive investigations from the discipline of ethnomusicology, solicited by artists such as Walter Maioli, Francesca Heart, Sara Persico, BB (Alessandro Bava and Fabrizio Ballabio), Modular on the Spot Naples (MOTSNA), Babau.
Nextones, the international festival dedicated to the most radical experimentation in the field of audiovisual art and electronic music took place in Oira (VB) from July 20 to July 23.

SIRENLAND is a site-specific project by Alessandro Bava and Terraforma in collaboration with Villa Lontana on pristine sounds of bygone eras that give rise to new acoustic spaces and times.
The stage draws inspiration from Ieranto’s mythological and industrial past by proposing a reverse groove exedra made of fiberglass while musician Walter Maioli performed in close dialogue with the architectural structure of the bay, evoking its mythological past and bringing forth a new musical/archaeoacoustic archaeology of the place.
SIRENLAND is on display at Biennale Architettura 2023, 18th international architecture exhibition.
The 2023 program gets inspiration from Organic Music Societies, spotlighting Don and Moki Cherry’s visionary and collaborative experiments in the art of living.
In this regard, Terraforma is inviting Blank Forms, who recently published a volume exploring Don and Moki’s work, as a co-organiser for the matinée lectures and concerts.
Some of the artists in the music program included: Actress, Nkisi, The Master Musicians of Jajouka, Hudson Mohawke and many more.
Threes Productions and Fondazione Marcelo Burlon present Tranceparenti. Kicked off in 2016 as part of the requalification project of the Bagni Misteriosi pool in Milan, Tranceparenti is a multidisciplinary format devised and curated by Threes, which sees the intermix of site-specific concerts, visual arts, publishing, and performance. The project acts as a one-day festival, bringing together a plural and diverse line-up, in one of the most iconic spaces of Milan’s urban landscape. In partnership with Fondazione Burlon, the next edition of Tranceparenti continues to break the boundaries of the expected, in the unique setting of the open-air cultural space.
On the occasion of the second Roman edition of Il Pianeta XL, Terraforma occupied the spaces of the Macro Museum in Rome, transforming it into a temporary club.
The evening hosted a series of live shows, DJ sets, installations and talks for PAN’s 15th anniversary with Bill Kouligas, Crystallmess, Heith, Honour, Katja Novitskova, Low Jack x Le Diouck.
Set Up is a project in collaboration with Palazzo Grassi in Venice. On Friday 3 and Saturday 4 February, 2023 two nights of music and performing art will invade the rooms of Punta della Dogana for an event in continuous flow, where performers and public become one with the empty museum spaces, through dance, live, dj-sets and original performances. For the occasion, Terraforma invites Nkisi, Carmen Villain and Toulouse Low Trax.

Threes was born in 2012 as the founder of Terraforma, to explore through cultural paradigms and to inspire an ecological vision, in the belief that art and culture can generate virtuous circles of inclusion and environmental awareness. Over the years, Threes has developed its never-ending drive towards innovation, evolving into a multidisciplinary platform ranging from event production and curatorship, to the publishing of music and editorial content.
Threes commissioned a new logo and identity Jakub Samek, Czech type designer and member of the Maxitype platform.
On December 15th, Threes and MMT, in collaboration with Fondazione Prada, presents Maria W Horn performing “Dies Irae” at Chiesa di Santa Maria Annunciata in Chiesa Rossa. The name and thematic focus of the piece is inspired by the latin poem “Dies Irae,” a vision of doomsday, divine salvation, and eternal flames, on which Maria W. Horn builds a pièce for women’s vocal quartet-which on this occasion will consist of four local voices-and electronics. The event is supported by Il Ministero dei Beni Culturali and Il Comune di Milano as part of Milano è Viva, “Antico futuro: universo e fantascienza.”
The third edition of Il Pianeta Milano included a billboard campaign around the city of Milan commissioned to Jeremy Deller, which was also launched at Assab One on 6 October 2022. During the same evening Terraforma also presented Perila’s live concert, which was recorded and put on the QR code on Jeremy Deller’s poster around the city. The program also featured two soundwalks, “Playground,” led and curated by Standards and John Cage’s “Landscape: a series of talks and concerts dedicated to the life of John Cage” curated by MMT Creative Lab. Simposio—a new space of research investigating contemporary urgencies through the lenses of art and ecology—returned for its second edition at Assab One. Featuring a workshop by Slipmode, a screening by Institute of Queer Ecology, a talk and live set by Chris Korda, and live concert by Robert Lippok.
Performative 02 was the second edition of the international festival focused on performative arts and music realised by MAXXI L’Aquila. For the occasion, Threes Productions presented two musical performances in dialogue with the territory of L’Aquila as well as the spaces of MAXXI L’Aquila: Andrea Belfi, the composer and drummer that blends acoustic rhythms to electronic sounds, and Dame Area, the punk duo well known for their unique style so called “Tribal Wave.”
The photographer of this edition of Nextones Festival was Giovanna Silva (Milan, 1980) who, in the two years preceding the festival, shot the surrounding nature of the Oira Valley. The first four days of the festival were articulated in the spaces of Treno dei Bimbi, Orridi di Uriezzo, Villa Caselli, and the Agaro Dam through performances, workshops and walks curated by Ariella Vidach’s Common Cloud, Aerocene, Babau, foodculture days, Rayon Vert, Deep Listening, Rrose, Arpabong, and Mimmo Sparacio. Over the weekend, Tones Teatro Natura’s quarry then welcomed live performances and DJ sets including that of Squarepusher, Electric Indigo, Front De Cadeaux, Marina Herlop, Sky H1 + Mika Oki, Seventh Extinction, and Khalab.
After two years of covering and spirling new orbits, Terraforma landed again on the dusty soil of Villa Arconati, releasing rhythm and frequencies. The seventh edition of the experimental and sustainable music festival focused on its most radical and original essence: the experience of being together through music and dance. The lineup featured Amnesia Scanner, Autechre, Voices From The Lake, Common People, Valentina Magaletti, Paquita Gordon, Crystallmess, DJ Marcelle / Another Nice Mess, DJ Nigga Fox, DJ Red, Donato Dozzy, Higher Intelligence Agency, Lafawndah, Mark Ernestus’ Ndagga Rhythm Force, MC Yallah & DEBMASTER, MOIN, NR/MA, Piezo, PLO Man, Sofie Birch, Teto Preto, Aaron Dunkies, and DJ FATi.
For the third edition of Una Boccata d’Arte—the contemporary art project spread across twenty Italian villages, curated and realized by the Elpis Foundation and Galleria Continua for which Threes Productions curates the sound installations each year—sound art interventions were commissioned to Riccardo Benassi in Pesariis in Friuli-Venezia Giulia; Eva Marisaldi in San Costanzo in the Marche; and Hanne Lippard in Grottole in Basilicata.
The third issue of the Terraforma Journal explores the generative possibilities of the synthetic process through a multifaceted research line that connects sound, music, and the adjacent methods of sound generation in audio electronics to fields such as artificial intelligence, ecology, language, logic, and everything in between.
Threes, in collaboration with FAI – Fondo per l’Ambiente Italiano, presented the live premiere of Heith’s new record –X, Wheel at Palazzina Appiani in Milan, together with his band composed by percussionist Jacopo Battaglia and guitarist Leonardo Rubboli. The performance was realized in partnership with Marsèll and supported by SHAPE Platform & Creative Europe.
LOVOTIC, curated by Threes Productions involving Sound Collective, was the inaugurational exhibition of the new space FOROF, in Rome. An immerseive sound installation in dialogue with the excavations of the Basilica Ulpia, hosting the contributions of Charlotte Gainsbourg, Lyra Pramuk, AtomTM, Paul B. Preciado, and Willem Dafoe. Technology has shaped almost every facet of human life. Lovotic explored the entanglement of the human and the machine, starting from the core of human life, namely sexuality, hence opening a space for a hermeneutics of love in the post-human era.
Titled “SUB,” the second issue of the Terraforma Journal stretches the possibilities of the prefix out of the purely lexical landscape to assume unexpected connotations through in-depth features, interviews, special portfolios, essays, and more. The issue features Suzanne Ciani, Black Med, RP Boo, Drexciya, Merzbow, Nathalie Djurberg & Hans Berg, Arpanet, Ocean Space, and many others to explore the subject.
A new iteration of the Chiesa Rossa concert series with a special solo organ performance by Ellen Arkbro, the Swedish avant-garde composer and sound artist. Ellen Arkbro’s work includes long duration compositions for ensembles as well as electronic sound environments in the form of installations and live-performances, employing both traditional acoustic instruments as well as digital algorithmic sound synthesis. At Chiesa Rossa, she performed her latest work, a sound meant to be experienced as one solitary object, periodically shifting from without, while remaining unchangingly solid within.
On the occasion of the exhibition “Breath Ghosts Blind” by Maurizio Cattelan in 2021, Pirelli HangarBicocca in collaboration with Threes Productions presented “Fragile,” a series of musical moments accompanied the exhibition project with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi, the Ensemble Strumentale e Vocale la Barocca and baritone Christian Senn, conducted by Ruben Jais.
A 24-hour venture taking over different spaces of Macro Museum in Rome. An exploration of new topographies recalling the core elements of Terraforma and the analysis made by Ettore Sottsass in his visionary project featuring a series of performances, talks, video-installation, and workshops with artists such as Jeremy Deller, Terre Thaemlitz, Paquita Gordon, and Vipra Sativa.
The 2021 edition of Il Pianeta Milan aimed to collect online and offline performative interventions that question the relationship between music, art and the urban dimension; with artwork and sound interventions by Formafantasma, Rebecca Salvadori, Giulio Scalisi, and Grand River featured on a billboard campaign across the city. The event was supported by Fondazione Cariplo, Il Comune di Milano, SHAPE Platform & Creative Europe and Spazio Maiocchi. Produced by MMT Creative Lab and Threes.
On occasion of Contact(less), the first edition of Performative 01—the first performance art, dance, theatre and music international festival realised by MAXXI L’Aquila—Threes presented two special instrumental performances: a live improvisation by experimental drummer and percussionist Valentina Magaletti and SSIEGE live band’s debut.
A timeless release presented in collaboration with Raster Media with a debut at Villa Arconati in July 2021. “Il Quadro di Troisi” is a project by Andrea Noce (Eva Geist) and Donato Scaramuzzi (Donato Dozzy). The record is a colorful ode of an Italian scented vision, overflowing with details and profound intensity. The contemporary world condition, the pandemic in Italy and around the world make “Il Quadro di Troisi” as a unique and right-on-time release.
Terraforma Journal is a new editorial project by Terraforma. A biannual publication exploring the intersection of sound, art, ecology, and contemporary culture at large. The issue #1 focuses on the expanded notion of the festival—intended as a collective, multilateral, interconnected manifestation of dynamicity. The theme unfolds through a multiplicity of layers to acquire new and unexpected definitions featuring Terre Thaemlitz, Fabio Sargentini, Shiraz Arts Festival, Nyege Nyege Festival, Alessandro Bava, 2050+, and many more.
During the pandemic hiatus, Terraforma pursued its process of terraforming in the fields of cultural and ecological investigation through a number of new formats and projects. Here’s where Simposio developed: a dialogue and investigation of the contemporary through the lens of ecology and artistic practices. The first edition featured a yoga class with Lavinia, a talk by Agricola Moderna, a panel by Space Caviar, and performances by Riccardo La Foresta and Jessika Khazrik.
Una Boccata d’Arte is a contemporary art project, spread throughout Italy, by Fondazione Elpis in collaboration with Galleria Continua, for which Threes curates the sound installations. Selected artists of the second edition included: Camille Norment in Santa Gertrude in Trentino Alto Adige, Francesco Cavaliere in Vallo di Nera in Umbria, and the Polisonum duo in Gesualdo in Campania.
“Protocolli di Terraformazione” was a one-week masterclass that took place within the educational program of the Heritage Innovation Masters run by Abadir Academy. With lectures, presentations, and workshops organized by the Threes’ team, Space Caviar, Luca Lo Pinto, and many others.
“Supercatastrofe” is the third edition of “God is Green,” a festival dedicated to sustainability and the future developed by Manifattura Tabacchi. Threes Productions’ contribution took place in the form of the sound collage “SPOKEN RIFTS,” which intertwined Threes’ research around experimental music and sustainability with insights on the contemporary issues connected to the Anthropocene.
A new project by Terraforma, born in 2020, which draws its inspiration and name from the iconic series by Ettore Sottsass from 1972. The launching event presented the work of Alessandro Bava, Natália Trejbalová, TCF, and Piezo, who were invited to re-interpret the homonymous project by Ettore Sottsass through a series of artworks and a soundscape.
An immersive showcase of the Platform for Innovative Music and Audiovisual Art from Europe of which Terraforma is part since 2020, featuring Oli XL and Emilie Palmendus, Tadleeh, Rina Treanor, Jay Glass Dubs, and Upsammy.
Shelter is the project of Primitive Art (Matteo Pit and Jim C. Nedd), which on this occasion hosted within it the first chapter of shared research: a 40-minute musical performance by Primitive Art that narrated, through sound and light, that space of undefined boundaries in its different roles.
Before & After was a special project born from the will to transform a difficult time, the pandemic years, into an opportunity for change and development. Cava Roncino hosted a laboratory-residency of a temporary micro community of artists, creatives, professionals, and technicians, fostering reflection on the meaning of sociality and the creation of a new cultural architecture: the Theatre for the Future.

Among the artists selected for the first edition are: Marta De Pascalis in the magnificent Basilica of San Sebastiano in Ferla, Sicily, with Filippo Vogliazzo and Matteo Nasini in the ruins of Soverato Antica in Catanzaro, Calabria.
Supported by Slam Jam, Threes and Artifact presented “Aesthesis” the album of Shapednoise. The live performance took place alongside the photography exhibition by Leonardo Scotti, the video installation of Pedro Maia, and the opening DJ set by Heith.
An exhibition curated by Threes at Hyphen Projects, with works by Lorenzo Senni, Stephen G. Rhodes, Emanuele Marcuccio, Sylvano Bussotti, and a special performance by Michael Vorfeld. Inspired by Dick Higgins’ restoration of the term ‘Intermedia,’ whose nature is that of a game where the audience is invited to design its own architectural space by using different media as tools. A painting, a live performance, a laser installation, a sculpture, and a score—these are the elements chosen to represent Threes’ imagery.
The third chapter in the ethereal Chiesa Rossa featured a three-fold program having as its core “Tabula Rasa” by the composer of sacred minimalist music Arvo Pärt on the Acusmonium Audior, a unique handmade sound diffusion system consisting of 54 speakers and 44 amplifiers.
At the second Art Encounters event, Threes presented David Monacchi with the project “Fragments of Extinction.” The project focuses on the study of the sound biodiversity of endangered ecosystems through the recording of three-dimensional “acoustic portraits” in different geographical areas. The event was part of the exhibition dedicated to contemporary art open to the city of Milan on the theme of sustainability at the Volvo Studio.
Launch event of Terraforma 2019 and “THE ALPHABET” by Nathalie Du Pasquier. Based in Milan since 1979, Nathalie has worked as a designer and was a founder member of Memphis. She designed numerous “decorated surfaces”: textiles, carpets, plastic laminates, and some furniture and objects. In 1987, painting became her main activity.
Realized on the occasion of Linecheck in Milan, “Sounds from Canada” was an immersion into Canadian realms with INTe*ra -the A/V live project by Acting Press’ members PLO Man, All Rest No People and C3Deee- the founder of Doo DJ Spence and LNS, an affiliate of Dj Sotofett’s Wania.
Positive Feedback was a two-fold event curated by Lorenzo Senni and supported by Warp Records and Presto!? Records. The first half of the night developed between “The Seven Heavenly Palaces” by Anselm Kiefer, a site-specific performance by Florian Hecker, and an anticipated live concert by Curtis Roads, the granular synthesis pioneer behind the seminal “Point Line Cloud” collection, re-issued on Presto!? for this occasion. The event continued at Ex Cinema Aramis / Striptease with Donato Dozzy, Ewa Justka, and Tasho Ishi.
In 2019, Threes took over the art direction of Nextones, the international music festival of electronic music and visual arts born in 2014 in the historic quarries of marble and granite extraction between the shores of Lake Maggiore and Val D’Ossola. Photography is the chosen language to represent the singularity of the Quarry, this time, commissioned to the photographer Delfino Sisto Legnani in collaboration with Studio Temp.
In collaboration with #TodayAtApple, Threes presented “A Vision Of Sound,” a site-specific event for Foster + Partners’ amphitheater at Apple Piazza Liberty. At sunset: the Italian premiere of “Isa”—Croatian Amor’s latest release on Posh Isolation—and “Futuro,” a performance by Not Waving together with iconic creative director Sean Rogg.
The sixth edition’s creativity and poster featured the Alphabet of Nathalie Du Pasquier and hosted Bambounou, Buttechno, Caterina Barbieri, Daniel Higgs, DJ Stingray, Donato Dozzy, Efdemin & Marco Shuttle, Izabel, Juliana Huxtable, Kelman Duran, Laurie Anderson, Marylou, Mica Levi (DJ), Monolake, Paquita Gordon, Ramzi, Renick Bell, RP Boo, Sir Richard Bishop, Sote Stargate, STILL, Vladimir Ivkovic, Walter Prati & Ricciarda Belgiojoso.
As part of the Parco delle Culture event, Threes presented the iconic mbira dzavadzimu player and enduring activist in African music, Stella Chiweshe, and Simone Bertuzzi as Palm Wine on the stage of Teatro Continuo di Burri.
Threes presented Upperground Orchestra at Immersione Libera, the contemporary art exhibition conceived by Marina Nissim and curated by Giovanni Paolin in collaboration with Galleria Continua, Associazione Pier Lombardo, Teatro Franco Parenti, and Parenti District Art & Design.
Terraforma Festival showcase at Ping Pong 129 in Hong Kong with Marco Shuttle. Berlin-based born in Treviso, Italy, Marco Shuttle has been involved in the underground club scene since he was 15, as a promoter and later as a DJ.
In January 2019, Threes returned to the hallowed aisles of Chiesa di Santa Maria Annunciata in Chiesa Rossa, this time to present a legendary artist for whom the association had already shown special fondness: Charlemagne Palestine. For the occasion, the artist did not fail to adorn the church organ with colorful rags, flanked by a handful of stuffed animals, his performance companions since the glorious 1970s.
A club night in collaboration with Buka, and supported by Carhartt WIP, presented Jerusalem in My Heart, the audio-visual project created in 2005 by musician and composer Rawan Ghazi Moumneh, and Ron Morelli, one of the greatest influencers in the contemporary electronic music scene. The night hosted two other protagonists: Paquita Gordon and Joseph Tagliabue.
Presented by Carhartt WIP and Curated by Threes Productions, the event PAN 10 Years Showcase hosted live performances and installations by Amnesia Scanner, Pan Daijing, Eartheater, TCF, Jenna Sutela, and Harm van den Dorpel.
“Tranceparenti” is a project resulting from the collaboration between Teatro Franco Parenti and Threes. A concert on water, designed specifically for the floating platform on the occasion of the inauguration of Bagni Misteriosi in 2018 with Lanark Artefax.
Threes and Carhartt Work In Progress presented Mark Ernestus’ Ndagga Rhythm Force on Burri’s Teatro Continuo in Parco Sempione, Milan. Mark Ernestus’ Ndagga Rhythm Force is the group formed by, Mark Ernestus, pioneer of German dub techno, and Senegalese sabar musicians with trance-inducing polyrhythms.
Emanuele Marcuccio was the artist behind the propulsive artwork of Terraforma 2018, designed by 2015’s vision. Taking inspiration from slags of modern industrial production, repetition and Terraforma itself, his work was commissioned to enlighten the festival’s interstellar perspective. The musical program featured Batu, Byetone, Caterina Barbiere’s sound installation, Daniele De Santis, Donato Dozzy, DON’T DJ, Gábor Lázár, Imaginary Softwoods, Jeff Mills, Lanark Artefax, Marco Shuttle, Mino Luchena, Mohammad Reza Mortazavi, Konrad Sprenger, Nkisi, Paquita Gordon, Plaid & Felix’s Machines, PLO Man, Powder, Rabih Beaini, Valentino Mora, VIPRA, and Vladimir Ivkovic.
For Manifesta 12 in Palermo—the European Nomadic Biennial held every two years in a different city on the continent—Threes Productions curated the program for the opening event and its after party presenting Sahel Opera, STILL, Palm Wine, and Primitive Art.
FOG inaugurated the collaboration between Triennale Teatro dell’Arte and Threes presenting Anna Von Hausswolff, an innovative organization of under-40s with an unconventional outlook that focused on issues of cultural sustainability between music, art, and the environment.
TROUBLE MAKERS was the opening event of the exhibition “Trouble Making – Who’s Making the City?,” an investigation into the mass phenomena and virtual networks that are changing our minds and our cities curated by Raumplan at BASE in Milan for Milan Design Week. For the occasion Threes Productions presented Gabber Eleganza’s “The Hakke Show.”
Threes Productions presented the fifth edition of Terraforma Festival with two works by Emanuele Marcuccio: “Untitled TF” and the video “Once announced, the era of constructivism has broken out. We live among non-modern people” in the spaces of Teatro Arsenale in Milan.
A productions curated by Threes and Presto!? Records on the occasion of Milano Music Week. The event consisted of a concert in three acts by the Milanese enduring music super group CB21, composed of Lorenzo Senni, Simone Trabucchi, Massimiliano Bomba, Emanuele Marcuccio, Jim C. Nedd, and Matteo Pit. DOOR21 took place in the intimate setting of Teatro Verdi, in the heart of Milan’s Isola district since 1913.
On the occasion of the opening of the new aisle of the Shit Museum dedicated to the Dung Beetle and two works by Gianfranco Baruchello and Claudio Parmiggiani, Threes Productions presented the site-specific concert-installation by Charlemagne Palestine.
Preview of ‘I’ the album of STILL released on PAN and performed on the stage of Burri’s Teatro Continuo in collaboration with Carhartt WIP, La Triennale, PAN, Still. Tied together by a polyphony of voices animated by a shared gospel, “I” weaves iconic tropes and dancehall rhythms into a contemporary perspective. The concert featured four singers on stage—Devon Miles (of Devon and Jah Brothers), Keidino, Elinor, and Freweini—and a surrounding sound system designed specifically for the space.

The aisles of the Chiesa di Santa Maria Annunciata in Chiesa Rossa in Milan are home to “Untitled,” the site-specific work by American minimalist artist Dan Flavin specifically conceived in 1996 for the renovation of the Church and realized by Fondazione Prada in collaboration with Dia Center for the Arts di New York and Dan Flavin Estate. In this beautiful setting, William Basinkski played the organ of the Church live.
In 2017, Threes and Carhartt Work In Progress brought to Italy, for the first time, the iconic Killasan Sound System, centerpiece of the Berlin based Wax Treatment legendary events, in partnership with Ex Dogana in Rome and BASE in Milan. The Killasan Sound System is one of the touchstones to date of a different way of experimenting reggae music and dancehall.
The third edition of Terraforma Festival hosted Charlemagne Palestine, Rabih Beaini & Vincent Moon, Biosphere, Helena Hauff, Donato Dozzy, Claudio Fabrianesi, Francesco Cavaliere, Healing Force Project, Dynamo Dreesen, Flanger, Sensate Focus, Lee Gamble, AtomTM & Tobias, Tropic Disco Sound System, STILL, Beatrice Dillon, Adrian Sherwood, Paquita Gordon, and Primitive Art.
“Tranceparenti” is a project by Teatro Franco Parenti in collaboration with Threes Productions, conceived for the reopening of spaces of Piscine Caimi, now named Bagni Misteriosi, with a view to integrating different expressive languages to recompose memory and innovation, classical instruments and new musical research in a harmonious whole. On this occasion, a forty-piece orchestra reinterpreted, on the floating stage, the music of Lorenzo Senni arranged by Francesco Fantini.
Inside the permanent exhibition at Pirelli HangarBicocca in Milan where Anselm Kiefer’s spectacular work “I Sette Palazzi Celesti” is located, Terraforma presented Boredoms live, a visionary Japanese group. An Italian exclusive concert, the only preview of the festival of 2016.
The second edition of Terraforma hosted Hamid Drake, Charles Cohen, Bochum Welt, Convextion, Marco Shuttle, Gea Brown, Maurizio Abate, Rawmance, Valerio Tricoli presented by S/V/N/, Rabih Beaini, Senyawa, Keith Fullerton Whitman, Robert Lippok, Donato Dozzy & Nuel, and Keith Fullerton.
While waiting for Terraforma 2015’s three immersive days, five site-specific musical events marked the atmosphere of the festival:
Terraforming “Paradoxes” Orthographe and Lorenzo Senni at Planetario Civico Ulrico Hoepli in Milan;
Terraforming with DJ Stingray at Assab One in Milan;
Terraforming with Gianluca Petrella at Villa Tasca in Palermo;
Terraforming with Mike Cooper at Acquario Civico in Milan;
Terraforming with Gigi Masin at Centrale Montemartini in Rome.
First edition of TERRAFORMA, experimental and sustainable music festival. The lineup featured: Voices From The Lake, Morphosis, Chris Madak aka Bee Mask, Tommaso Cappellato, Dalhous presented by S/V/N/, Thomas Fehlmann, Burnt Friedman, Millie & Andrea, Heatsick, Ghèdalia Tazartès, Pierre Bastien, Rawmance, Norberto Lobo, Pasquale Mirra, Deadbeat e Tikiman, James Blackshaw, Volcov, CB21, Native, Sisterpatti aka Paquita Gordon, and Daniele D’Andrea.
On the occasion of exhibition “Playground”, curated by Bartolomeo Pietromarchi and Maria Alicata, at Casa delle Armi in Rome, Threes presented Terraforma, with a live performance of ambient music between guitars and synthesizers with Commodity Place and a DJ set by Rawmance.
In 2014, Threes in collaboration with O’ presented “Terraforming Vol.1,” the first of three encounters between music, art, and nature that formed the preview of the first edition of Terraforma. The event opened with the site-specific project “Finis Terrae” by Ignazio Mortellaro, followed by the live electronic music performance by TM404, a project by Swedish Andreas Tilliander.
Techno Portraits was a series of three events exploring the boundaries and perceptions of electronic music through lectures, live performances, and DJ sets. Temporarily extracting electronic music from the classic club context, the mission was to change its approach and usual point of view, leading the spectator to a different and more conscious understanding and listening.
